Visconti Homo Sapiens Magma Rollerball makes the company Erupt Again.
In 2010, Visconti shook the fountain pen industry with a breakthrough both in design and the use of materials.
The original Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Age was launched. Firstly, they carved the pen from pure basaltic lava and enriched it with resin materials. Secondly. The pen encompassed the strength of ancient powers, juxtaposing its volcanic nature to a soft and smooth writing experience.
Visconti pen’s history starts in Florence, Italy. A place of art and culture. Because the city stands as an important industrial center, luxury and fashion are typical there. Luigi Poli and Dante del Vecchio, two friends who met in Florence, both decided to turn a common passion into a business.
They founded Visconti pens on October 20, 1988. The first pen collection launched by the company was named “Classic.” They have such a success that the next year, in 1989, the company also developed “Urushi,” their first limited edition of 100 pieces.
Furthermore, In the 1990s, the brand gained repute. And, as the new millennium moved in, Visconti Pens launched their iconic clip. The clip also makes an explicit reference to the ancient Ponte Vecchio.

Furthermore. the Visconti Homo Sapiens collection is crafted from hardened basaltic lava sourced from the Mount Etna volcano in Italy. The lava is virtually indestructible and soft to the touch, making this fountain pen easy to write with. It also absorbs moisture from your hand as you write. The glossy metal red trim gives a fiery contrast against the matte black lava of the pen’s body. Available in Black.
The Homo Sapiens body features lava which has some incredible qualities making it the perfect material for writing instruments. It’s virtually unbreakable, it’s slightly hygroscopic (meaning it absorbs moisture during use and has a slightly cool feel) and its density provides for a relaxing grip.
The Homo Sapiens Magma is available as a classic two-piece design. It accepts a wide variety of rollerball refills from fine to broad and in 10 plus color choices.
