Description
Shaffer Skrip Ink: Sheaffer first introduced its Skrip ink back in 1922. At the time, many demanded the Ink because of its quality and the Glass bottle with a well reservoir, that made easy to load any fountain pen, using almost all the ink in the bottle. We fondly remember the old Skrip ink bottles with metal lids and the handy well for filling. We loved the Peacock Blue ink and use it widely in our first fountain pens, long ago..
In 1990 Sheaffer closed the plant that made ink in the USA. In 2002 they started to have their ink manufactured in Slovenia and it came with an updated conical shape bottle. The updated bottle had a plain label, with a modern look
Shaffer Skrip Ink
Overall we were pleasantly surprised. The Shaffer Skrip Ink Collection had a lot of punch in terms of color. They all performed well. For example, the teal tone gives the green ink a different look from many of the greens produced by the other companies. It also has a little more depth in tone, and it nicely stands out on the page. We don’t like washed out colors, and in general Sheaffer Skrip inks produce solid colors and strokes.
In terms of performance, the ink has good flow, is not a gushing ink, meaning it has the right density, to be fluid but not watery, and it was dry on the paper in terms of any smearing within five seconds; very reasonable and a good standard.
This Ink Collection is priced very attractively, taking in account it’s quality also, the Shaffer Ink Collection comes in eight attractive colors, Blue Black, Red, Purple, Blue, Brown, Green, Black and Turquoise. We are sure that one of those will satisfy your taste, and will make you like the way you write!
