Description
Luxury Brands of America proudly presents the Platinum 3776 Mountain Mist Fountain Pen. A USA-exclusive special edition that marks a first in Platinum’s 106-year history.
The #3776 Century pays tribute to Japan’s iconic Mt. Fuji, whose name derives from its elevation (3,776 meters). For our exclusive edition, we wanted to bring that inspiration closer to where we call home, drawing from the misty ridges and rolling beauty of North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, where Luxury Brands of America is based.
Platinum 3776 Mountain Mist Fountain Pen
Over two years in the making, the Platinum 3776 Mountain Mist Fountain Pen resulted from a long-standing collaboration between Luxury Brands of America and Platinum. It was carefully developed to capture the essence of mountain landscapes. With an elegant interplay of translucent smoky hues, this pen embodies the shifting light and shadow that dance across the peaks.
For the first time, this Platinum 3776 Mountain Mist Fountain Pen features a custom-branded nib and multiple colors on one pen, a unique touch exclusive to the Platinum overseas market until now.
This special edition is not limited, but it remains a rare offering.
The Platinum Pen Company Today.
Toshiya Nakata took over the Company as the third president right after Toshiro Nakata’s passing; he then released “PLAISIR,” a metal-body fountain pen offering the same features as the PREPPY at an even more affordable price.
Later, the Company developed a screw-in cap fountain pen instead of the snap-on used on the PREPPY and PLAISIR. A new fountain pen, named “CENTURY” and given to commemorate the Company’s 100th anniversary, was released in 2019.
Toshiya Nakata joined Platinum Pen when he was 29 years old. His concerns were the same: the fountain pen had become less popular than other writing tools over time because of the negativity that the ink created when it dried out after a period of inactivity.
Consequently, he and his technical staff created the Slip & Seal Mechanism, preventing ink from drying out in the pen. Thanks to this system, the ink does not dry for up to 24 months. Finally, in 2011, they released the pen.
Many people use a ballpoint regularly and only use a fountain pen for special occasions. Even in this infrequent use scheme, the pen stays ready to write. This is the Platinum CENTURY Demo fountain pen.
