Caran d’Ache Pen Holder

Caran d’Ache is a Swiss manufacturer of art and luxury writing instruments. The company saw the light in Geneva in 1924 when Arnold Schweitzer purchased the Ecridor Pencil Factory. Schweitzer named his new company after Caran d’Ache, the nickname of a French satiric political cartoonist -who in turn took his name from карандаш (karandash), the Russian word for pencil-.

The Caran d’Ache One Pen Holder comes executed in a soft hand-stitched finely grained leather. The pen holder comes generously sized. We tested all sorts of pens from generic Bic stick pens up to a Pilot and Pelikan M800 fountain pen. Due to the nature of leather, it will stretch, so even if your favorite pen or pencil has a large diameter, the chances are that it will fit.
